Summary
The inventory of the King George County estate [of the Corbin family?] lists the names and ages of 59 slaves as well as animals and farm equipment and was part of the doucmentation in the case of Corbin vs Wellford, Spotsylvania County, Va. Slaves are listed in family groups and bear the last names of Drayton, Griffin, Jackson, Lewis, Richardson, Ross, Shippen, Smithers, Taliaferro, Tucker, White, and Williams. There is also a list of seven slaves deceased or sold between the death of the owner in 1848 and court proceedings in 1857. A Zachary Lewis is noted as being age 110
